"If you don't see the real me, you won't see what love has won..." Vota

Oh how refreshing is Your Word to my soul!

I just had one of those God is clearly speaking to me and encouraging me moments. Here's the thing. Friday as you know I spent the ENTIRE day alone! This was a soul cleansing day. Seriously, not only my physical closets were emptied as I ransacked my house and threw so, so much stuff away and organized everything, but at the same time I got to sing praises to my Lord the whole day, as loud as I wanted and organize all of the jumbled thoughts in my head. I will tell you that by Saturday my soul was as much as a Utopia as my house and not only did I spend the day with my label maker, but with God.

I made schedules, chore charts, daily planners and checklists for the girls to give them as much structure as I would have given my public school kids. I have planned a serious pow-wow with them this morning and they know that we are having this meeting to go over our new boundaries and household management plan. (If I am to be an effective household manager, I really needed a plan!)

I have scheduled in me time an hour and a half each day before the girls get out of bed. (I have a friend who always gets up early for this very reason and it makes sense.) That way I can take inventory of my day, have my devotion time and listen for the Lord in the quiet of the morning (maybe I will get more sleep if I make some quiet time during the day to listen to Him). Our new plan goes into effect this morning and I am very thrilled to get started.

During my devotion time this morning, I read my Girlfriends in God e-devotion and I will tell you what, it was written for me for this very day. It was God knowing that I would get on the computer this morning before I begin our new plan for my time with Him and He said, "You go girl!" Maybe not in such slang phrase, but that is the gist. The whole devotion talked about making the most of your time and day and how the e-world can come into conflict with God just in that checking email, and Facebook messages and socializing takes away time from what God has planned for you to do and most of all time away from His time with you. The verse she sums it all up was God speaking to me through the scripture.

"God, make a fresh start in me.
Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!"
Psalm 51:10-12, MSG

The Bible truly is the Living Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

So this refreshed and encouraged soul has 5 more minutes of computer time this morning and then I have an hour to set my goals for the day and get things started--like breakfast. Today, I pray for God's wisdom, so that I may live my day wisely and within His parameters.

  1. Psalm 51:12-13 (The Message)

7-15 Soak me in your laundry and I'll come out clean, scrub me and I'll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing. Don't look too close for blemishes, give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways so the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God, and I'll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
Unbutton my lips, dear God; I'll let loose with your praise.
